Sharwan Kumar is an Artisan card holder of Ministry of Textiles and his family has been practicing Kutch embroidery art for over 80 years. The embroidery is carried out by the tribal community of Kutch District in Gujarat, India. Some of the popular items made with this embroidery include kutch handbags comprising traditional kutch hand embroidery work like rabarI bharat, Gujarat aarI, sankad bharat, kantha work and burnished coin, tiny mirror, colorful pompom, cotton fabric, badmer fabric, old kutch patchwork fabric, cotton fabric, handmade work, neon color cotton fabric. These bags are best suitable and most popular in young generation, for wedding purpose, gifting & return gifts. The community is concentrated around Kutch and specializes in world famous Shisha, Abhala work, Soof, Khareek, Pako and Aari embroidery. They also operate a small product centre in Delhi to cater to local demands. A total of about 50 people draw their livelihood.
